Purpose: To admit the exact nature of your wrongs (from Step 4) to yourself, a Higher Power, and another person to break the cycle of shame and isolation.

Write a core truth from your inventory that you are now ready to fully admit to yourself without minimization. Identify a person who is trustworthy, non-judgmental, and caring. Briefly note why they are a good choice. Plan the practicalities. When, where, and how will you share? Drafting your opening words can reduce anxiety. Use this space after you have shared to jot down the feelings of relief, freedom, or new insights you gained from the experience.
